Customer Story:
A leading British automotive manufacturer renowned for luxury and off-road vehicles under two iconic brands, the company has been a subsidiary of a major Indian automotive firm since 2008.
With a global workforce of around 35,000 employees, it reported record revenues of £29.0 billion and a profit of £2.2 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2024. The company is actively investing in electrification, with plans to introduce new electric models and achieve carbon net-zero status by 2039.
The leadership team faced a significant challenge with their data integration. Firstly, there was no standard approach to integration. As a result, key systems couldn’t communicate, projects could not complete and critical manufacturing projects were blocked. This slowed production and implementation of new manufacturing plants.
This lack of integration and consistently approach hindered the company’s ability to scale and support growth. The issue was so severe that it became a regular point of discussion at the UK board level. We were engaged to redesign the integration platform and reinvent how data and integration should work, in turn resolving these bottlenecks.
Over the course of multi year engagement we redesign and rebuilt data integration platforms, developed a new optimised global operating model which we then implemented with their global teams. We led and ran the new operating model, ensuring that a standardised “factory” simple, repeatable approach to integrated global systems could be adopted. We designed and led their governance approach and then upskilled their teams on the new model and raised the maturity across their teams.
Production projects became unblocked and growth could once again accelerate.
All platform and implementation issues were resolved and there was a clear implementation roadmap for the future.
Maturity and capability for data and integration was enhanced and embedded within the global organisation.
